    2. 9/07/82 Proposal to the National Director of Planning, stating that they have received a letter from the ANC, requesting the purchase of five Lada cars for which payment will be made in US Dollars. The proposal further states that when the ANC houses were attacked in Matola, most of their cars were destroyed hampering their work. Having contacted the ANC and explaining the shortage of cars in Moçambique, they have reduced their request to two cars destined for their logistics department which has encountered the most serious problems. In this regard it is proposed that the purchase of two cars from the seven in the reserve of the planning department by authorised – Alina Teixeira

The letter further states that the ministry of cooperation has already sent two letters requesting information on the flat on Av 24 de Julho 751 1st floor right, and that their preoccupation with this subject is in order to protect both their offices as well as those of the ANC.   1. 10/10/85 Message from the OMM (Organisation of Mozambican Women), delivered during a regional conference for Southern African teachers. The message emphasises the need to reduce illiteracy in the region and expands on the socio-economic and cultural benefits that this reduction will induce. It further explains the effect that the legacy of colonialism had on the literacy rate in Mozambique and argues that FRELIMO managed to reduce the illiteracy rate from 98% to 73% in a period of ten years.

Title – Education and development – the role of teachers and education institutions in the struggle for social progress and development. The communiqué argues that the role of teachers in the struggle for social progress and development is, to ensure democratic schools and a democratic education system in a country, as well as the need to have an effective mechanism to defend teacher’s rights as well as the rights of others involved in the provision of national education.
